Mocean Skills are reusable instruction packages for AI coding agents. They provide task-specific REST API guidance, implementation workflows, safety boundaries, edge cases, and testing expectations for Mocean integrations.

Quick start

Install once, activate by task

Run the command from the project where you want to use the Skills:

npx skills add moceanapi/skills

Or install them for your user across projects:

npx skills add -g moceanapi/skills

Follow the prompts to select agents and Skills. Restart an agent if it does not detect a newly created skills directory.

Manual installation

Clone https://github.com/MoceanAPI/skills, then copy each directory inside skills/ into a skills location supported by your agent. Preserve every Skill’s complete directory, including its SKILL.md and references/ files.

  • User: ~/.cursor/skills/<skill-name>/
  • Cursor also supports .agents/skills/ and ~/.agents/skills/.

SMS

Outbound SMS, delivery reports, inbound SMS, message status, and pricing queries.

Covers server-side tokens, message IDs, mixed recipient outcomes, ambiguous sends, API behavior, and webhook tests.

moceanapi-otp-verify

OTP Verify

Send and resend verification codes over SMS, then check submitted codes.

Covers expiry, resend cooldowns, attempt limits, ownership checks, replay prevention, and transport uncertainty.

moceanapi-whatsapp

WhatsApp

Messages, templates, media downloads, inbound messages, and delivery-status events.

Covers content fields, template and service-window decisions, message correlation, webhooks, and mocked tests.

moceanapi-voice

Voice

Inbound and outbound calls, Mocean Command actions, keypad collection, call control, and recordings.

Covers synchronous webhooks, response validation, call IDs, ambiguous dial failures, and mocked tests.

Detailed guidance without loading everything at once

This progressive-disclosure structure keeps the agent’s initial context small while making detailed Mocean guidance available when relevant.

Use Skills and MCP together

Mocean Skills answer:

“How should my agent implement this?”

They provide workflow guidance, constraints, edge cases, and testing expectations.

The Documentation MCP Server answers:

“What does this API operation accept and return?”

It retrieves structured operation details from the current public API documentation.

Use both for the strongest coding-agent experience: Skills guide the implementation approach, while the Documentation MCP Server supplies precise API contracts on demand. Neither product executes live Mocean API requests.

Scope and limitations

  • Skills are guidance, not runtime libraries or API clients.
  • Skills do not execute live Mocean API requests.
  • Skill activation and generated-code quality depend on the coding agent and model.
  • Developers remain responsible for reviewing, testing, securing, and operating generated code.
  • Live Mocean API requests require a Mocean account and server-side API token.

Mocean Skills are published in a public GitHub repository so developers can review each SKILL.md, its operation references, and its release history.
